Common Sales Support Roles

There are typically five broad categories of Sales Support Roles

Administrative Support that provides "behind the scenes" administrative assistance to the Sales Reps.

Customer Service Support that provides support services directly to the customers after the initial sale.

Product/Service Expert Support that provides expert industry, or expert product/service knowledge, training, and consulting, directly to the prospect or customer, in concert with the Sales Rep, before or after the initial sale. 

Executive Support that provides support services directly to the the prospect, and/or customer before or after the initial sale. This support typically demonstrates the company's values and business philosophies, relative to its commitments to its customers.

3rd Party Support that provides support services directly to the prospects, or customers, before or after the initial sale. These services are provided by other companies that provide complimentary products and/or services.
