K&A’s TCM Data Validation Utility

What is K&A’s TCM Data Validation Utility?

K&A’s TCM Data Validation Utility is a tool set/utility that allows companies using TCM to audit how well key data fields used by TCM are currently being maintained. Please see our web site for a complete overview of this offering.

How is K&A’s TCM Data Validation Utility utilized?

It allows K&A’s clients to define what key data fields are current being maintained within TCM, and how each key data field should be maintained under the client’s specific set of current data management “rules”. See Sample TCM Data Validation Rules, available on our web site, for an extensive sample of rules used by a typical K&A’s client.

These client specific rules are setup within the Utility by K&A, and K&A sets up the Utility so that it can be run on demand by each client. The Utility checks all the client specific rules against the client’s entire TCM data base and produces an Exception Worksheet (in an Excel format) of items and data fields that do not match the client specific rules.

The Exception Worksheet makes it relatively easy for the client to correct the data fields that do not match the rules that it has defined. These exceptions can be corrected by hand, for small amounts of errors, or by using the mass update capability of the Utility, for large amounts of errors.

Once all of the corrective maintenance has been completed for, the Utility can be rerun as frequently as needed to insure compliance to the current set of client specific rules.

When is K&A’s TCM Data Validation Utility typically utilized?

This Utility is typically utilized when K&A’s clients desire to audit the accuracy of data fields being maintained within TCM that affect critical business processes, such as inventory valuation, or product cost maintenance. As an example, many clients find using the Utility to be very helpful when validating their Current Costs prior to using them to update their Standard Costs.

What is K&A’s Special Introductory Offer?

Companies can purchase a custom trial of the Utility for a fixed price of $500.

Under this special introductory offer, each client can define up to 6 client specific data management rules that K&A will use to audit against the client’s current TCM data base. K&A will execute the Utility on the client’s TCM server and provide the client with the Exception Worksheet produced from this audit.
